HTC Aria Android PhoneAT&T keeps their promise to launch HTC Android phone: HTC Aria Smartphone. The Aria is a compact middle range phone that weighs less than 4 ounces and very thin that measures less than 1/2 an inch contrast to the HTC Evo 4G. So, you can easily bring it and slip into a pants pocket. Although, it doesn’t have the beefy specs of the HTC Droid Incredible (on Verizon) or the HTC EVO 4G (on Sprint), the HTC Aria is certainly better than the Motorola Backflip (another AT&T smartphone).

The main features of the HTC Aria Smartphone:

  • A small 3.2 inches touch screen with a 320×480 pixel HVGA resolution that supports for the pinch-to-zoom multitouch gesture. Although it is not the best touchscreen, the Aria’s screen is clear and bright.
  • Built-in accelerometer technology to adjust automatically the display to landscape or portrait mode.
  • Customizable HTC Scene home screen panels for creating specific home screens with apps for work, play, travel and more.
  • Runs on Android 2.1 OS, still waiting for the latest Android 2.2 Froyo (may be on the second half this year).
  • powered by a 600MHz Qualcomm MSM 7227 processor. Although not as fast as the HTC Droid Incredible, the Aria runs very responsive.
  • A 5-megapixel camera with several options such as settings for brightness, contrast, saturation, ISO, and effects. Unfortunately, the camera has no flash, so the quality of indoor photos get a bit blurry.
  • Fast 3G connectivity via AT&T’s HSDPA/UMTS network (850/1900 MHz bands; 3.6/7.2 Mbps speeds with network availability).
  • Wi-Fi, for internet connection while on the go via hotspots
  • Comes with a dedicated YouTube player as well as a built-in music and video player.
  • Optical joystick control with PC-like viewing and navigating of Web with pinch and zoom

For battery life, the HTC Aria Smartphone is equipped with 1200 mAh lithium-ion battery that is rated at up to 6 hours of talk time and up to 15.5 days of standby time.

Bottom line
Beside we love the Aria’s compact design and speed when running from applications to others, the HTC Aria comes with great features for mid-range phone. For internet connectivity, the HTC Aria Smartphone offers high-speed access for example: the CNN’s site is loaded not more than ten seconds.
